1. Scope
This policy applies to all purchases made on the official LaserPecker South Africa website. Purchases via unauthorized resellers or external marketplaces are subject to the respective seller’s policy.
2. Returns & Refunds — How We Handle It
2.1 Return or refund for defective/unsafe or incorrect items
If you receive a product that is defective, damaged, or not as ordered, you may request a full refund or replacement.
Please inform us as soon as possible once you receive the item.
Under the CPA’s implied warranty of quality (Section 55 & 56), you have a right to request a refund, replacement, or repair within six (6) months of delivery if the product fails to meet reasonable quality standards (defective, unsafe, non-functional, not fit for purpose).
2.2 Returns for change of mind / non-defective items
Because South African consumer law does not guarantee a general “change of mind” return right, we treat change-of-mind returns as a courtesy rather than a legal entitlement.
If you wish to return a non-defective item for change of mind, it must meet all the following conditions:
The request must be made within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods.
The item must be returned unused, with all original packaging, accessories, manuals, and tags intact.
The item must be returned at your cost, using a trackable shipping method.
Upon receiving and inspecting the item, we will refund the purchase price minus a restocking fee or return shipping cost.
Because this is a courtesy return, we reserve the right to accept or decline such returns depending on packaging condition and item resaleability.
2.3 Bundles / Special Offers / Clearance / Opened Item Returns
Items sold as bundles, bundles with discounts, or special / sale / clearance items are only refundable or returnable as a full bundle — not individually.
Consumables, materials, after-sales parts, or items marked as “non-returnable/unopened only” may not be eligible for return for change of mind.
2.4 Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order before it ships, please contact us within 2 hours of placing the order. After this window, we cannot guarantee cancellation because the order may already be processed or dispatched.
Once the order is dispatched, you must follow the return procedure (if eligible) once you receive the package.
3. Return Procedure
Send a return request to support@laserpecker.co.za or via our support form, including: your order number, product name(s), and reason for return. If applicable (defective/damaged), include photos or video evidence.
Wait for a return approval and return address. Do not send the item before approval. Unauthorized returns may be refused.
Pack the item securely, include original packaging, accessories, manuals, and clearly label the return address. Use a trackable courier and keep tracking info.
Once we receive and inspect the item, we will confirm whether refund or exchange is approved.
Refunds (if approved) will be processed within 7 business days of our acceptance and inspection. The time for the funds to reach your account depends on your payment provider / bank.
4. Refund Amount
For defective, damaged or incorrect products: full refund or full replacement at no cost to you (including return shipping if we shipped the wrong item or item is defective).
For change-of-mind return (courtesy): refund will be net of any restocking fee or return shipping cost (depending on condition and resaleability).
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method only. We cannot redirect refunds to a different account.
5. Consumer Rights under South African Law
5.1 Defective or unsafe goods
Under sections 55 and 56 of the CPA, you have the right to receive goods that are of good quality, safe, functional, and reasonably durable. If the goods fail to meet these standards, you may demand repair, replacement or a full refund — at your choice — at no cost and within six (6) months of delivery.
5.2 Return when product fails to meet agreed purpose / description
If you purchased the product for a specific purpose, and the supplier explicitly represented that it would fulfil that purpose, you may return the product if it fails to do so, even when there is no defect (within a reasonable period).
5.3 No general “change-of-heart” right by default
South African law does not guarantee a right to return goods merely because you changed your mind. Any allowance for such returns is based on our store policy (a courtesy), not statutory obligation.
6. Exclusions & Exceptions
We cannot accept returns (even courtesy returns) for:
Consumable materials, after-sales parts, or items clearly marked non-returnable.
Items that have been used, assembled, altered, damaged, or missing accessories / original packaging.
Items purchased via unauthorized resellers (warranty or returns must be handled directly with reseller).
Downloadable digital content (licenses, software) once delivered.
7. Warranty & After-Sales
If a product shows a manufacturing defect after the return window or following normal wear under reasonable use, please use our warranty claim process, as outlined in our Warranty Policy.
Warranty claims follow separate terms and do not limit your statutory rights under the CPA.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Returns & Refunds Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of our site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
ℹ️ Notes & Legal Compliance
Under the CPA, for defective/unsafe goods, you have statutory rights that cannot be waived.
For change-of-mind returns, because there is no statutory right, any return is at our discretion.
For online purchases, additional rights may apply under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
